How To Lose Weight Without Dieting

Let's face it. Dieting just doesn't work. You're either constantly grumpy from depriving yourself of the food you really want, or you're cheating, which defeats the entire purpose. Well, there are actually several small, easy and relatively painless changes you can make in your life that will help you take off some extra pounds and keep them off.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fortitude
  • Walking shoes
  • Water bottle

How to Lose Weight Without Dieting

1. Move away from the candy bowl.
2. Step out for lunch. For the nine-to-fivers, start packing your own lunch. That way, you can use your lunch break to go for a walk. This will boost your energy level for the second part of your work day and is much better for you than another cup of coffee or a dip into the office candy bowl.
3. Eat an early dinner. It's not always easy, especially for the busy urban professional, but try to sit down to dinner by 7 p.m. And, much like the Gremlins, do not feed yourself after midnight.
4. Take your time and eat slowly. Not only will you be able to more fully enjoy each bite, but you will also be better able to feel yourself getting full.
5. When you're out to dinner and they bring around the dessert menu (or worse yet, the dessert tray), it's hard to say no. So don't! Instead, order one dessert for the table and share. Divvying up the calories lets everyone satisfy their cravings for the sweet without doing too much damage to the waist line.
6. Take the stairs.
7. Drink at least eight cups of water a day. Carry around a hard plastic water bottle and fill it up whenever you see a water cooler or drinking fountain. Water really does help flush toxins out of your system, not to mention that it speeds digestion.
